How to Configure Meta Settings for Content Types

The Content Types tab lets you define default metadata and robots behavior for different types of content on your WordPress website.

Open Content Types

Go to:

SEO Repair Kit → Meta Manager → Content Types

SEO Repair Kit displays the content types currently registered on your website.

The exact list can vary between websites.

For example, your current test environment includes content types such as Posts, Pages and different CPT.

Select a Content Type

Expand the content type you want to configure.

For this guide, we will use Posts as the example.

The Posts area contains:

• Title & Description
• Advanced Robots Meta

Configure the Meta Title

Open Title & Description.

Under Meta Title for single Post, configure the default title template used for Posts.

The current interface provides quick tags including:

• Posts Title
• Site Name
• Separator
• View all tags →

A typical dynamic template can look like:

%title% %sep% %site_title%

This is a default template. Individual posts can override it from their own SEO settings.

Configure the Meta Description

Under Meta Description for single Post, configure the default description pattern.

Available quick tags include:

• Posts Excerpt
• Posts Title
• Site Description
• View all tags →

A default template can use:

%excerpt%

SEO Repair Kit replaces the dynamic value with information from each individual post.

Configure Other Content Types

Repeat the same process for other content types that require SEO metadata.

Do not assume every website will display the same content types.

The available list depends on WordPress, the active theme, and installed plugins.

Configure Advanced Robots Meta

Open Advanced Robots Meta for the selected content type.

The first important control is:

Sync Advanced Settings

When Sync Advanced Settings Is Enabled

The content type follows the global robots configuration from:

Meta Manager → Advance Settings

This is useful when you want consistent robots behavior across the website.

Use Custom Robots Settings

Disable Sync Advanced Settings when the selected content type genuinely requires its own robots configuration.

Custom controls become available.

The current Posts interface includes:

• No Index
• No Follow
• No Archive
• No Translate
• No Image Index
• No Snippet
• No ODP
• Max Snippet
• Max Video Preview
• Max Image Preview

Max Snippet

Controls the maximum snippet length.

In the current interface:

-1

represents an unlimited value.

Max Video Preview

Controls the maximum permitted video-preview length.

-1 represents unlimited in the current interface.

Max Image Preview

Controls the permitted image-preview size.

The interface includes options such as Large.

Important: Custom settings override the inherited global robots configuration for that content type. Do not enable No Index or other restrictive directives without understanding their indexing effect.

Save Your Content Type Settings

Click SAVE CHANGES after completing your configuration.

Repeat the process for any other content type that requires different metadata.
