How to Configure Advanced Robots Meta Settings

Advance Settings controls the default robots meta configuration used across Meta Manager.

Content Types, Taxonomies, and Archives can inherit these settings through Sync Advanced Settings.

Open Advance Settings

Go to:

SEO Repair Kit → Meta Manager → Advance Settings

Check the WordPress Indexing Warning

Meta Manager can display:

Search Engine Indexing Disabled by WordPress

when WordPress is configured to discourage search-engine indexing.

When this WordPress setting is active, SEO Repair Kit warns that it will not override the WordPress robots behavior. Your existing interface documents this precedence.

For a public site that is intended to be indexed, review:

WordPress → Settings → Reading

and check:

Discourage search engines from indexing this site

Important: Do not disable this setting on a staging/private site merely to remove the warning.

Use Recommended Default Robots Settings

Expand:

Global Robots Meta (Applies Site-Wide)

Enable:

Use Recommended Default Robots Settings

The current interface displays the recommended preview:

index, follow, max-image-preview:large

This configuration allows indexing and following while permitting large image previews.

Configure Custom Global Robots Settings

Disable:

Use Recommended Default Robots Settings

to expose custom controls.

The current interface includes:

No Index

Requests that search engines do not index applicable content.

No Follow

Requests that search engines do not follow links on applicable content.

No Archive

Requests that search engines do not show a cached copy where supported.

No Translate

Requests that supported search engines do not offer a translated version.

No Image Index

Requests that images associated with applicable content are not indexed.

No Snippet

Requests that search engines do not display a text snippet where supported.

No ODP

A robots directive exposed by the current interface.

Max Snippet

Controls the maximum snippet length.

-1 represents unlimited in the current interface.

Max Video Preview

Controls the maximum video-preview length.

-1 represents unlimited.

Max Image Preview

Controls the permitted image-preview size.

Before saving, review:

The preview shows the directives that the current configuration generates.

Caution: Global robots settings can affect large portions of the website. Review them carefully before saving.

Click SAVE CHANGES.
