How to Edit SEO Settings for Individual Posts and Pages

Meta Manager provides content-level controls inside the WordPress editor.

These settings allow you to override default metadata for a specific post or page without changing the entire content type.

Open Meta Manager in the WordPress Editor

Open an existing Post or Page or create a new one.

Open the SEO Repair Kit editor sidebar and select:

Meta Manager

The panel displays a Preview and provides an Edit Snippet action.

Review the Preview

The preview displays the current:

• URL
• SEO title
• Meta description

Use it to review the current metadata before creating an override.

Edit the SEO Snippet

Click:

Edit Snippet

The Edit SEO Snippet modal opens.

It contains:

• Title & Description
• Advanced

Configure the SEO Title

Under SEO Title, enter your title or use available dynamic tags.

The current editor interface provides quick tags such as:

• Post Title
• Site Name
• Separator
• View all tags

The interface recommends a title of up to 60 characters and displays character feedback.

Configure the Meta Description

Under Meta Description, enter a custom description or use available tags such as:

• Post Excerpt
• Post Title
• Site Description
• View all tags

The interface recommends up to 160 characters.

Configure the Canonical URL

Find:

Canonical URL

Use this field when the preferred canonical URL for this content needs to be explicitly overridden.

Important: Do not enter a different canonical URL unless it accurately represents the preferred version of the same or substantially equivalent content.

Use Advanced Settings

Open:

The default state includes:

Use Default Settings

When enabled, the individual content follows the appropriate Meta Manager/content-type robots configuration.

The interface indicates that changes made to the inherited settings can automatically apply here.

Create a Custom Robots Override

Disable:

Use Default Settings

Custom robots controls appear.

The current editor interface includes:

• No Index
• No Follow
• No Archive
• No Translate
• No Image Index
• No Snippet
• No ODP
• Max Snippet
• Max Video Preview
• Max Image Preview

Use these settings only when the individual post/page genuinely needs different robots behavior from its content-type defaults.

Save the SEO Snippet

After reviewing your settings, click:

Save Changes

Use Reset All to Defaults when you intentionally want to remove the custom snippet configuration and return it to its defaults.

Then update/publish the WordPress post itself where required.
