How to Import and Export Redirects

The Import/Export tab lets you back up, migrate, or transfer redirect configurations using supported file formats.

Open Import/Export

Go to:

SEO Repair Kit → Redirection → Import/Export

Export Redirections

The Export Redirections section lets you download your redirect configuration.

Choose the required export format.

The current interface provides:

CSV

A simple text-based format.

JSON

A structured format suitable for programmatic use and data transfer.

Nginx

Exports redirect configuration for Nginx.

Apache .htaccess

Exports redirect rules for Apache .htaccess.

Export Your Redirects

To export:

1. Open Import/Export.
2. Select the required export format.
3. Click Export Redirections.
4. Save the exported file in an appropriate location.

Exporting can be useful before migration or major redirect changes.

Import Redirections

The lower section provides:

Import Redirections

You can drag and drop supported files into the upload area or click to browse for files.

The interface allows multiple files to be selected.

Update Existing Redirections

Before importing, review:

Update Existing Redirections

When this option is checked, the interface states that existing redirects with matching IDs will be updated.

Otherwise, matching existing redirects are skipped.

Use this option carefully when importing redirects into a site that already contains redirect records.

Supported Import Formats

The Need Help? section provides exact import-format information.

CSV

Supported CSV file extensions include:

.csv

The interface specifies columns:

source_url, target_url, redirect_type, status, is_regex

JSON

Supported JSON files should contain an array of redirect objects using the same field names.

Apache .htaccess

The importer can process standard Apache rules such as:

• Redirect
• RedirectMatch
• RewriteRule

The interface states that each supported rule is converted into an SEO Repair Kit redirect entry.

File Size Limit

The current interface specifies a maximum import file size of:

10MB

For larger files, split the data into multiple imports.

Import the File

After selecting the file:

1. Review whether Update Existing Redirections should be enabled.
2. Click Import Redirections.
3. Review your Redirections tab after the import.
4. Verify important Source and Target URL mappings.
