How to Configure Redirection Settings

The Settings tab controls redirect logging, .htaccess integration, and migration from previous Redirection data.

Open Redirection Settings

Go to:

SEO Repair Kit → Redirection → Settings

Configure Detailed Logging

The first setting is:

Detailed Logging

Enable:

Log every redirect hit with visitor details

when you want redirect hits logged with visitor information.

The interface states that this can include:

• IP
• User Agent
• Referrer

Administrative changes such as:

• Create
• Update
• Delete
• Import

are always logged regardless of this setting.

Privacy note: Visitor-level logging can involve information such as IP addresses. Configure data collection and retention according to your site’s applicable privacy requirements.

Configure .htaccess Sync

The next option is:

Enable automatic .htaccess rule generation

When enabled, SEO Repair Kit automatically writes supported redirect rules to .htaccess for Apache/LiteSpeed servers.

The interface advises disabling this option if you prefer PHP-only redirects or use Nginx.

Write All Redirects to .htaccess

The additional option is:

Write all redirects to .htaccess (not just regex and media files)

According to the interface, by default only regex patterns and media-file redirects are written to .htaccess.

Enable this option when you intentionally want all redirects written to .htaccess.

Important: .htaccess affects server-level request handling. Use these settings only on a compatible server configuration.

Save Redirection Settings

After making changes, click:

Save Settings

Review Current Logging Status

Below the settings, SEO Repair Kit displays:

Current Logging Status

Your current screenshot shows:

Detailed Logging: Enabled

and indicates that redirect hits are being logged with visitor details.

This section provides a quick way to confirm whether detailed logging is currently active.

Database Migration

At the bottom of the page, you will find:

Database Migration

This section is intended for redirect records created by a previous version of the plugin.

The interface explains that existing records can be migrated to the new Advanced Redirection system.

The current screenshot shows:

Status: No migration needed – database is up to date.

A Run Migration Now button is also available.

Important: Database migration is not part of the normal process for creating a redirect. Use it when migration from previous Redirection records is actually required.
