Create Auto Linking Rules

Auto Linking lets you create keyword-to-URL rules and find matching content for those rules.

Go to:

SEO Repair Kit → Internal Linking → Auto Linking

Auto Linking Summary

The page displays:

• Total Rules
• Active Rules
• Active Links
• Removed Links

Create a Rule

Under Create Rule, configure the following:

Keyword / Anchor Text

Enter the phrase that should be matched.

For example:

SEO audit

Destination URL

Enter the target URL for the internal link.

Selection Mode

Choose between:

Manual

Allows you to review matching content and choose where the link should be applied.

Auto

Uses the automatic selection workflow according to the configured rule.

Case Sensitive

Enable Case sensitive when capitalization must match the configured keyword.

Configure Rule Settings

Click:

Rule Settings

Max Links Per Post

Limits the number of automatic links inserted into one source post.

Max Links Per Keyword

Controls the number of links allowed for the keyword according to the rule.

Default Link Priority

Controls processing priority when multiple keywords match the same sentence.

Published After Date

Restricts content according to the selected publication date.

Target Post Types

Choose the content types the rule can work with.

Available content types depend on the WordPress installation.

Add Link if Post Already Has This Link?

Controls whether another link can be added when the source content already contains the link.

Only Create Internal Links When Target Is Published?

Restricts the rule to published target content when enabled.

Restrict Auto Links to Specific Categories

Limits Auto Linking according to selected categories.

Restrict Auto Links to Specific Tags

Limits Auto Linking according to selected tags.

Create and Scan the Rule

After configuring the rule, click:

Create & Scan Rule

Matching content appears under:

Content Matches Found

Review the matching content and click:

Apply Selected

to apply selected matches.

The interface also provides Remove Rule Links for removing links associated with a rule when applicable.

Important: Review your Auto Linking rules before applying links across multiple content items.
