Yes. Internal Linking relies on indexed content to understand your website content and link structure. Run or refresh the Content Index before generating opportunities when your index is outdated.

What is the difference between Rule-Based and AI suggestions?

Rule-Based opportunities use configured keywords and matching rules.

AI opportunities use the AI processing layer to identify potential relationships based on content meaning and context.

Can I use Internal Linking without enabling the AI Engine?

Yes. The interface supports Rule-Based suggestions independently. Rule-Based suggestions can be available even when AI processing has not been completed.

Can I edit anchor text before inserting a link?

Yes. In the WordPress editor, click Edit Anchor, modify the selected anchor text, and click Save Change before applying the link.

Can a suggestion have more than one target?

Where multiple target options are available, the interface can provide multiple possible destinations. Review the target before applying the link.

What is orphan content?

Orphan content is content with no inbound internal links. SEO Repair Kit also separates low-inbound and healthy content in the Orphan Content workflow.

How do I find links for an orphan page?

Go to:

Internal Linking → Orphan Content

Locate the content and click Find Opportunities.

Can I ignore an orphan page?

Yes. Use Ignore when you intentionally do not want the content included in active orphan-content review.

What does Auto Linking do?

Auto Linking lets you create a keyword/anchor text → destination URL rule, find matching content, and apply links according to the configured rule.

What is the difference between Manual and Auto selection in Auto Linking?

Manual lets you review matching content and choose which matches to apply.

Auto uses the automatic selection workflow according to the rule configuration.

Can I restrict an Auto Linking rule?
