Use Internal Linking in the WordPress Editor

SEO Repair Kit provides Internal Linking suggestions directly while editing content.

Open a supported post in the WordPress editor, open the SEO Repair Kit sidebar, and select:

Internal Linking

Scan the Current Post

Under Link Opportunities, click:

Scan Current Post

SEO Repair Kit analyzes the current content and displays available opportunities.

Suggestion Status

The panel displays the current status of:

• Rule-Based
• AI-Powered
• AI Coverage

If AI processing has not completed, Rule-Based suggestions can still be available while AI-Powered suggestions remain pending.

The AI Settings link provides access to the AI configuration.

Review an Editor Suggestion

Suggestion cards can display:

• Suggestion type
• Match quality
• Score
• Source sentence or context
• Highlighted anchor
• Target option
• Edit Anchor
• Apply Link

If multiple target options are available, review the available destinations before applying the link.

Edit Anchor Text

Click Edit Anchor.

The Edit Anchor Selection window opens.

Context Preview

Shows the surrounding content and currently selected anchor.

Selected Anchor Text

Allows you to modify the selected anchor.

After editing:

1. Click Save Change.
2. Review the updated suggestion.
3. Apply the link when ready.

Apply the Link

When the anchor and target are correct, click:

Apply Link

The selected internal link is then applied through the editor workflow.

Target Keywords in the Editor

The sidebar also provides a Target Keywords section.

Detected Keywords

Displays keywords detected for the current content.

Custom Keywords

Enter a keyword under Add custom keyword… and click Add.
