Job Posting Schema

SEO Repair Kit’s Job Posting Schema lets you add structured job information to job listings on your WordPress website. It helps search engines understand important details about a job, such as the job title, posting date, application deadline, description, employment type, hiring organization, location, salary, education requirements, experience, skills, and working hours.

The current JobPosting Configuration is designed for websites that have a job listing or career post type. SEO Repair Kit notes that a job board, career functionality, or another plugin that provides job-related data is required for this schema to work properly.

Access Job Posting Schema

From your WordPress dashboard, go to:

SEO Repair Kit → Schema Manager

Under Schema Types, find Job Posting.

Select the checkbox beside Job Posting to open the JobPosting Configuration panel.

The configuration panel contains:

  • Assign to Post Type
  • Field Mappings
  • JSON-LD Preview — Save & Validate

These settings determine where Job Posting Schema is applied and where its job information comes from.

Configure Job Posting Schema

To configure Job Posting Schema:

  • Go to SEO Repair Kit → Schema Manager from your WordPress dashboard. This opens Schema Manager, where you can select and configure the available schema types.
  • Under Schema Types, find Job Posting and select its checkbox. The JobPosting Configuration panel will appear below.
  • Under Assign to Post Type, select Jobs. This tells Schema Manager to use the Job Posting configuration for the job content available on the website.
  • Under Field Mappings, configure where SEO Repair Kit should get the value for each Job Posting property. Some values can come from standard WordPress content, while job-specific information can come from post metadata or taxonomies.
  • Enable the fields you want to include and configure the appropriate source and value for each field. Fields marked with an asterisk (*) require particular attention because they are marked as required in the current configuration.
  • Review the JSON-LD Preview — Save & Validate panel. It displays the JobPosting structured data generated from the current mappings.
  • Once the configuration is correct, click Save Schema to save the Job Posting Schema.

    [Add Screenshot: Save Schema button]
  • Click Validate Schema to check the generated structured data. If an issue appears, review the corresponding mapping and make sure the job contains the required information.
  • You can also click Test with Google to continue testing the generated structured data using Google’s testing workflow.

Understand Job Posting Field Mappings

The Field Mappings section determines where SEO Repair Kit gets the information used in the generated JobPosting JSON-LD.

The current configuration uses:

Post Default

Post Default uses standard WordPress information associated with the job post.

The configuration shown uses it for:

  • Post Title
  • Post Date
  • Post Excerpt
  • Site Logo

Post Meta

Post Meta retrieves job-specific information stored as metadata by the job functionality or plugin installed on the website.

The current configuration uses metadata for information such as:

  • Employment Type
  • Hiring Organization
  • Base Salary
  • Education Requirements
  • Experience Requirements
  • Skills
  • Work Hours

Taxonomy

Taxonomy retrieves information from terms assigned to the job.

The current configuration uses:

Job Locations

for the Job Location field.

Manual Value

Some information can require a value to be entered directly rather than mapped to existing post data.

In the current configuration, Valid Through contains a manually selected date.

The available sources and values can vary depending on the job plugin, registered metadata, taxonomies, and post types available on the WordPress website.

Configure Job Posting Fields

Job Title

The Job Title field represents the title of the position being advertised.

This field is marked with an asterisk (*) in the current configuration.

Select:

Post Default → Post Title

This uses the title of the job post as the JobPosting title.

Date Posted

The Date Posted field represents the date on which the job listing was published.

It is marked with an asterisk (*) in the current configuration.

Select:

Post Default → Post Date

This allows Schema Manager to use the publication date of the job post.

Valid Through

The Valid Through field represents the date after which the job listing is no longer valid or applications are no longer being accepted.

It is marked with an asterisk (*) in the current configuration.

In the configuration shown, a date is entered directly:

09/26/2026

Select the actual expiration or application deadline for the job you are configuring. Do not reuse the example date for other job listings unless it is their real deadline.

The configuration shown uses:

Post Default → Post Excerpt

This uses the website’s configured site logo for the image value.

The current configuration uses:

The actual value depends on the employment information stored by the website’s job functionality.

The configuration shown uses:

Post Meta → simple_job_board_company_name

Make sure the job listing contains the correct company or organization information.
