How It Works

The Broken Links feature works by scanning your website for any links that return a 404 error or are otherwise non-functional. Here’s a breakdown of the process:

Link Scanning:

• SEO Repair Kit regularly scans your website’s internal and external links. Any broken links found are listed in the dashboard.

Link Reporting:

• For each broken link, you’ll see its URL, the page it’s located on, and suggestions for repair or redirection.
• You will also see the status of the broken link (e.g., 404 Not Found).

Manual Detection:

• You can manually initiate a scan at any time by clicking the Start Scan button within the Broken Links feature dashboard.

Fixing Broken Links:

• Edit the link: Replace the broken link with the correct URL.
• Remove the link: Remove the link entirely from your content.
• Ignore the link: Mark the link as “ignored” if you do not wish to take action.

Proactive Monitoring:

• The plugin automatically scans your site at regular intervals and alerts you when new broken links are detected.
